He had been shot in the upper body and leg in what police said was a targeted attack.
“We believe he was dropped off and just left there which is a rather callous way to deal with someone with life-threatening injuries,” Detective Senior Sergeant Anthony Thompson said.
He was transferred to Royal Perth Hospital trauma unit and is in a stable condition.
Detectives from gang crime squad have been able to speak with him.
Police believe the senior club authority figure, who is well known to them, was attacked because he was trying to leave the gang.
“We suspect (the burns) are a product of other people trying to remove his tattoos that are related to the Comanchero (club),” Thompson said.

Police did not say where they believe the shooting took place but anyone who saw suspicious activity in the Rockingham area should contact Crime Stoppers.
“This is a timely reminder that the (motorcycle gangs) in our community are dangerous and harmful,” Thompson said.
“They are violent criminal gangs who cause significant harm to our community.
“This was a targeted attack.”
Police said there is no ongoing risk to the public but they will ramp up monitoring of bikie activity over the coming days to ensure the community is safe.
