Where’s the beef?
That’s the question business owners are asking after “Besty” — a red-and-white cow statue worth $3500 — was stolen from the carpark of a farming business in Melbourne’s outer west last month.
Three thieves stuck in the middle of the night, using a silver Holden VE Commodore station wagon to reverse a trailer into the business on Peterpaul Way in Truganina about 1.20am on Sunday, April 27.

CCTV footage shows the thieves checking to make sure Besty is not bolted down, before two of the thieves carried the fibreglass statue onto the trailer.
They then made a quick getaway and Betsy has not been seen since.

Sunrise reporter Andrew McCormack spoke about the theft on Tuesday.
“Police are now urging anyone to contact Crime Stoppers if they have information,” McCormack said.
“But this udderly low act has quite understandably upset quite a lot of people.”
Anybody with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
