A 64-year-old man will appear in court on Friday charged over the alleged suspicious disappearance of a woman more than 30 years ago.

Pauline Sowry, also known by her married name Pauline Lawrence, was last seen by her family in Wollongong’s northern suburbs in December 1993. She was 49 years old at the time.

Strike Force Anthea was established in 2022 to again look into the case, and in March 2024 a $500,000 reward was offered for any new information.

Police searched two areas of bushland south of Wollongong and seized items of clothing as part of their investigations.
