Collingwood star Lachie Schultz suffered a concussion in a graphic collision with Fremantle’s Jordan Clark on Thursday night.
Clark had the ball and was running towards Schultz, who stood his ground and attempted to make the tackle.

But he appeared to get hit in the head by Clark’s shoulder in an accidental collision. And Clark also landed on Schultz’s head, which added to the impact.
The Magpies forward lay motionless on the ground briefly with his arm in the air in a sign that he had suffered a concussion.
“He’s gone straight through the tackler and he has been knocked out cold,” commentator Brian Taylor said.
He attempted to get his feet, but stumbled again before managing to walk from the field.

“That is a bad one. I think we will have a halt in play, here. Craig McRae is very concerned. This is not good. He cannot keep his feet. This is horrible to watch,” Taylor added.
Kane Cornes added: “It is one of those ones that you just hate seeing. Reasonable graphic. Both players, full commitment. Sometimes that is this game and accidents happen. Incredible commitment from both players. Just a shame to see that from Lachie Schultz who has been so good tonight.”
Collingwood had already used their substitute at three-quarter time with Steele Sidebottom withdrawn for tactical reasons.
But despite being a man down and already without Scott Pendlebury, Jordan De Goey and Brody Mihocek, the Pies still had too much for the Dockers in a 20-point victory.
Six-goal hero Jamie Elliott paid tribute to Schultz after the match.
“This year he has been superb. His pressure is through the roof. You see him do three or four chases in ar ow. I don’t know how he does it, I do a couple and I am gassed,” Elliott told Channel 7.
“He is such a special player. What he does without the ball is super and he’s actually impacted on the scoreboard. Obviously, it is unfortunate with the concussion that he got tonight. It was a pretty big hit so hopefully he is OK. We will get around him and support him.”
Fremantle had their own injury issues, with ruck Sean Darcy left distraught after another blow.
Darcy has battled a wide range of injuries throughout his career and the emotion appeared to get the better of him with this latest blow.
The big man limped from the field in the third quarter, but was able to return a short time later.
However, he only last a few minutes before he was pulled and subbed out of the game.
Darcy was pictured at the back of the bench with his head in his hands.
“A bit of emotion on Sean Darcy. He’s trying to be stoic, but 15 games ‘23, 12 in ‘24 and this is just his fifth game this year. He just cannot get the body right,” Cornes said.
Boundary rider Ryan Daniels added: “Sean Darcy is out of the game. He has ice on the left knee. That is the same knee he had surgery on and the same reason he went to Doha to get his pre-season underway. It has been a flattening run for Sean Darcy.”
