West Coast premiership player Adam Selwood has been farewelled by his grief-stricken family in Perth on Wednesday, two weeks after his death aged 41 and just three months after twin brother Troy was laid to rest.
Adam’s long-time teammates and other colleagues and friends paid tribute at a moving memorial service at the Eagles’ home base held after the private family funeral.
The 2006 grand final winner has been remembered as a brilliant role player and a loving father-of-two and husband to Fiona since his death.

“We will miss Adam deeply,” Fiona said in a family statement.
“His spirit, kindness and the joy he brought to every room, his determination, the lessons he shared and his infectious personality will stay us with always.”
Premiership teammates Chris Judd, Ben Cousins, Daniel Kerr, David Wirrpanda, Beau Waters and Sam Butler were among the players to attend Adam’s memorial on Wednesday.
West Coast’s 2018 premiership players Josh Kennedy and Mark LeCras, along with Eagles greats Matt Priddis, Andrew Gaff and Nic Naitanui, were also there.
Geelong great Tom Hawkins, a close mate of Adam’s brother Joel, was in attendance while former Cats players Jordan Clark and Quinton Narkle, who now play for Fremantle, were there with Dockers coach Justin Longmuir.
Adam’s reach extended beyond the AFL, with members of local schools, sporting clubs and charities also showing up in numbers.

“Through all this it’s just been so obvious that the impact that he’s had on most people that he came in contact with,” Cousins told 7NEWS.
“Just a really great bloke.
“We’re going to miss him, and we love him.”
Adam’s death came just months after he spoke at the funeral of his twin brother and fellow ex-AFL player Troy, who died in February days before their 41st birthday.
“Having an identical twin is wonderful and complex,” Adam said at the public service held at Geelong’s home ground.
“A twin is more than a sibling, they are a constant presence, a built-in best mate.
“He wasn’t just my brother, he was my mirror, my fearless competitor, my ally.”
Adam said writing the funeral speech was the “hardest thing I’ve ever had to do”, but it made him recall fond memories of their childhood.
“Every game we played in our backyard was for sheep stations,” Adam read.
“If blood wasn’t split, it wasn’t played hard enough … Troy and I were relentless competitors.
“Rest easy my beautiful brother, I love so much, I am so proud of you. I will carry you with me always.”

Adam’s funeral also came just months after West Coast farewelled 2006 premiership teammate Adam Hunter.
Last weekend, several former Eagles players completed the half-marathon Adam Selwood had planned to run in honour of his brother Troy.
Adam was raising funds for a youth mental health organisation, with more than $50,000 donated to his campaign following his death.
Drew Banfield, Quinten Lynch, Brad Dalziell, Matt Rosa, Travis Gasper and Sharrod Wellingham all ran for Adam.
