A man has been seriously injured in a head-on crash that also hospitalised two others in Sydney’s west.

About 11.45pm on Friday a white Toyota van crashed into a parked BMW sedan on Gallipoli St in Lidcombe.

The BMW was then pushed into two other parked cars, police said.

Both vehicles were severely damaged in the crash, with the Toyota flipping onto its side, trapping the driver.

Emergency services were seen removing the van’s front screen window and cutting off its roof in an attempt to reach the 60-year-old male driver.

He was freed after about 40 minutes and taken to Westmead Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the BMW, a 20-year-man and his 17-year-old female passenger, both suffered minor injuries and were also taken to Westmead hospital.

Police are investigating the crash.
