Shocked residents have woken to find their windows smashed as gunshots tore through homes in an alleged shooting, followed by a car engulfed in flames.
Emergency services were called to Wilga Pl, Marsfield in Sydney’s north about 1am on Saturday following reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers were told a 28-year-old man had parked his car on the street and got out before he was allegedly shot at.

Some bullets ended up smashing into a nearby home behind the man, who was seen driving away in a black car after the shooting.
Shortly after, police were called to Ruse St in North Ryde, about a four-minute drive away, where they were told a bullet was found inside a home.
Police believe one bullet travelled about 1km to a home on Ruse Street in North Ryde, damaging a window before landing on the floor.
About 1.25am, police were called to Mardi St in Girraween, Western Sydney, about 35 minutes’ drive away, where they found a black BMW X4 sedan engulfed in flames.
The fire was quickly extinguished, but the car was completely gutted.


Footage from the scene shows its shell charred and blackened, with soot and debris staining the ground beneath.
No injuries were reported from the incidents.
Police have established multiple crime scenes, and investigations into the incidents, including possible connections between them, are ongoing.
