In a clear sign of the depth of concern for missing 17-year-old Gin Gin teen, Pheobe Bishop, her mother, Kylie Johnson, has made a public appeal for assistance in the search for her daughter.

Queensland police organised a forum for Ms Johnson to make the appeal and she spoke of the heartbreak and angst she feels as investigators continue to try and piece together her daughter’s movements.

Police have been searching for Ms Bishop since she failed to board a flight in Bundaberg on May 15, declaring multiple crimes scenes including the car used to allegedly drive Ms Bishop to the airport, stating they believe her disappearance is suspicious.

In the prepared statement Ms Johnson at times spoke in past tense which may have revealed the gravity with which detectives are treating the situation.

“Hi I’m Kylie, I’m Pheobe’s mum and our lives have been changed for the worse after the sudden disappearance of our daughter who was last seen on on May 15th,” Ms Johnson said.

“This is a pain no person or family should have to experience.

“Pheobe was a beautiful, loving, kind person and every day not knowing where she has been is devastating for us.

“This is why we are appealing for any information that may help to bring Pheobe home to contact the police.

“Even the smallest bit of information may be all the police need to find Pheobe”

Ms Johnson went on to thank the police investigators who are working tirelessly to find the young woman.

She also thanked the community for their support and said “she still holds hope that Pheobe will come home”.

“If the worst case scenario has happened, I at least need to know where she is resting,” she added.

“Someone knows something and as a mum I am asking you to come forward with your information.”

Investigations are ongoing as police continue to run out several lines of enquiry.

Chaotic scenes have played out this week as the two former flatmates of Ms Bishop, Tanika Bromley and James Wood, tried to evade the media after being evicted from their premises which was cordoned off as a crime scene after the young girl went missing.

Pheobe’s former housemate James Wood has been videoed sleeping in his car and being harassed by angry locals as the investigation into her disappearance grinds into its third week.

Mr Wood and Ms Tanika Bromley, told police they dropped her to the Bundaberg airport for her 8.30am flight but CCTV shows she never made it.

Under her bail conditions, Ms Bromley is expected to report in person to police at the local station three times per week and her appearance walking along the street, heading to the Gin Gin station, was a different tactic to her entrance in a car the previous day.

The greater Gin Gin area remains the focus of the investigation.

Police are appealing appeal to anyone with information, vision or sightings of a grey Hyundai ix35 between May 15 to 18 in the greater Gin Gin area to contact them.
