A passenger has been killed in a crash with a parked vehicle on Wednesday.

Their car struck the unoccupied vehicle on Dunmore Dr at Truganina, in Melbourne’s west, about 1am.

The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital, Victoria Police said.

The passenger died at the scene. They are yet to be formally identified.

Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

The death marks the 134th life lost on the state’s roads this year. The grim death toll is up from 119 lives lost on Victorian roads this time last year.
