A truck driver has died after losing control and crashing in Queensland‘s Southern Downs Region.

The man, aged in his 30s, was driving in a convoy with two other trucks along the New England Highway at The Glen when he crashed into the back of a car trailer about 5pm on Saturday.

The truck lost control, left the road and crashed into a tree.

Paramedics rushed to the scene, however the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the other car were not physically injured.

Police said the Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
