A man who died after being found unresponsive in a hotel room with serious injuries has been identified.
Matthew Pascoe, 35, was found in a room at Hinterland Hotel on Station St in Nerang, on the Gold Coast in Queensland, about 11.15am on Saturday.
He died in the room.

A crime scene was declared by Queensland Police and a post-mortem conducted.
That post-mortem found the man suffered significant head and internal injuries.
As a result, his death has been ruled suspicious.
Pascoe’s sister Caitlyn Pascoe wrote in an online fundraiser that her brother “left us far too soon”.
“Matthew was more than just a brother — he was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew him,” she said.
“His kind heart, sense of humour, and unwavering love for his family and friends touched so many.
“Losing him has left an immeasurable void in our lives.
“He was and always will be uncle Matty to his nieces and nephews, who thought the absolute world of him.”
The homicide investigation unit has been called in to assist Gold Coast police.
Anyone who stayed or visited Hinterland Hotel on Station St overnight from the evening of Friday, May 23, to Saturday, May 24, is urged to contact police.
