An earthquake has rattled residents southwest of Sydney on Wednesday afternoon.
The 3.5 magnitude tremor occurred below the Hume Mwy at Menangle, about 20-minutes southwest of Campbelltown, just before 3pm.
The quake’s rupture began at a depth of 2km, according to Geoscience Australia.
Over 460 people reported feeling the relatively small quake at the time of publication.

The tremors were felt as far north as Lidcombe, in Western Sydney, and as far south as Wollongong, according to Geoscience Australia.
“(The) whole entire house shook for two seconds. Maybe I’m imagining it,” one person wrote on X shortly after the quake.
