A baby girl was rushed to hospital with eye injuries when two e-scooter riders sprayed a fire extinguisher into the backseat of a car.
The infant’s mother said she “heard a scream no mother should have to hear her child go through”, adding the “disgusting” prank could have had far more serious consequences.
Police are still hunting for the two young people— believed to be just teenagers — who were involved.

The mother said her partner and their five-month-old daughter were in a car stopped at traffic lights on High St in Sippy Downs, on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, on Sunday night.
The two young males pulled up next to them on an e-scooter.
They then set off a fire extinguisher through the open back window of the car — where the baby was strapped into a car seat.
Both the driver and the baby suffered minor injuries.
The baby was taken to hospital where the mother said she had to have 100ml of saline solution poured into her eyes.
“Heard a scream no mother should have to hear her child go through,” she said.
The baby was discharged from hospital on Monday but the mother said: “We have to monitor her breathing for the next few days.”
The mother slammed the teenagers for their “disgusting” reckless behaviour.
“(I) hope whoever has done this … realises there will be consequences for your actions,” she said.
“A five-second dopamine rush is not worth someone’s life.
“I could only imagine If this had been someone with respiratory issues.”
Police are still hunting for the culprits.
A fire extinguisher believed to be the one used was found nearby on Stringybark Rd in Sippy Downs, police said.
Anyone who may have seen anything between 7.30pm and 8.20pm on Sunday, or any business owners who may have any CCTV footage, have been urged to come forward.
